Rune portals
SkyBlock rune portals link your island, the spawn, and your island's own Nether and End. Pick where each one takes you at its runic console.

A ring of rune stones, three crowns of rocks spinning around it, and in the middle a disc that already shows you the other side: rune portals are the gates of the archipelago. You go through one in the tutorial.
Where to find them
- On your island: the portal islet, north-west of your starter island, at the end of the bridge the tutorial has you repair.
- At the spawn: in the arch of the arrival terrace, south of the plaza.
- In your island’s Nether and End: each islet has its own, at the end of the path, in a round courtyard.
Choosing where it goes
Every portal has its runic console next to the way in: a carved tablet topped with a spinning sigil. Right-click it and the “Where does the portal lead?” screen opens:
- Spawn: the Isle of Ages, the pit, the NPCs.
- Your island: you land in front of your island’s portal.
- Island Nether: your island’s Nether islet.
- Island End: your island’s End islet.
The Nether and the End stay marked “Closed: a requirement is missing” until your prestige opens them.
The destination is yours: every player sets their own, portal by portal, without touching anyone else’s. By default your island’s portal leads to the spawn, the spawn’s takes you home, and the ones in your Nether and End bring you back to your island.
The reboot
When you pick a destination, the portal restarts just for you. The runes die out, the rocks stop and sink, the disc goes dark. Then the stones light up again two by two, the rocks pick up their spin and catch up with the others, and a wave opens the disc.
A window onto elsewhere
The disc shows where it leads, as seen from the arrival point: the spawn, your island, your Nether or your End. Walk up close: it behaves like a real window onto the other side. When you and a friend aren’t heading to the same place, each of you sees your own destination in the disc.
Stepping through the disc takes you through the iris.
Tip: farming in your island’s Nether? Set your island portal to “Island Nether”. One step and you’re there, and the islet’s portal brings you home.
Good to know
- On a new island the portal sleeps: it wakes up at the point in the tutorial where you click its console.
- You right-click the console, never the portal itself.
- The portals are part of the server resource pack: accept it to see the ring spin and the disc open.
