Island level

Your island level is its score. It ranks your island against every other one on the server and it unlocks the tiers of the upgrades. And it only looks at one thing: the level blocks you stack.

Level blocks

Not every block counts. Only level blocks push your island up:

• At the shop, on the Is Level Blocks shelf: each block shows how many levels it gives. Hay and sponge can only be bought there, and they’re the cheapest levels around.
• From the Sawmill: the blocks it makes say “Made at the Sawmill” and shine. Only those count: the same block gathered or crafted anywhere else is a plain block. The shop sells them too, already marked.
• In the Woodsman’s tiers: Cherry Sapwood, Resin Amber and King Oak Wood, job rewards.
• At the /blacksmith: the Stone of the Four Jobs, forged from your job resources. A huge chunk of levels in a single block.
• The jobs’ mythic blocks, the most precious of all.

Placing and stacking

• Place a level block on your island: it becomes a stack. A plaque above it shows how many it holds and the levels it gives.
• Right-click the stack: its screen. “Deposit” and “Withdraw” in small or large amounts, “all”, or a custom amount (you type the number in the chat, like 250, 2k or all).
• Each button tells you exactly how many blocks it’ll move, and how many levels you gain or lose. When there’s nothing to move, it tells you why.
• Breaking the stack takes one block back at a time.
• Stacks don’t care about pistons, explosions or fire. Only island members can touch them, according to the “Level stacks” right of their rank.
• A stack only counts on your island: placed in its Nether, its End or anywhere else, a level block gives nothing.

Auras

A huge stack ends up glowing. Each aura tier adds a layer of particles around it, denser and brighter each time, and the game announces it: “Aura tier!”. No potion effect: it’s for the show, and to remind your visitors who’s boss.

Checking your level

• /is level (also /is lvl): your level, with the breakdown block by block.
• In the menu: “Island Level”, then “See the breakdown by block”.
• On the island leaderboard, and on the warps board.

The Colossus Slayer trophy

The Colossus Slayer mastery trophy, placed on your island, boosts its displayed and ranked level. But upgrade tiers look at your level without it: their screen says “without the Colossus Slayer trophy” when it matters. It lifts you on the leaderboard, it doesn’t let you skip steps.

Tip: one big stack beats ten small ones. The levels are the same, but auras are earned stack by stack: pour everything into one block and that’s the one that lights up your island.
