Island upgrades

The seven SkyBlock island upgrades: size, factory count and speed, crops, players, hoppers and the ore generator. What each one changes for you.

Your island grows two ways: in level, and in upgrades. Upgrades are the real progress engines: more room, more factories, faster factories, crops you can watch grow, a generator spitting out ores. You pay for them in Rinacoins, and once bought they’re yours for good.

Opening them

  • /is upgrades (or just /is up).
  • “Upgrades” in your island menu, or its medallion on the astrolabe.

The screen is a constellation of seven stars, one per upgrade. Hover a star: its current level, what it does now and at the next level, its price, and the island level it needs. A green tick when a requirement is met, a red dot when it’s missing. Click to buy, a confirmation asks again.

The seven upgrades

  • Island Size: the buildable area grows, your border moves back. The first one puts your ONE CHUNK within reach.
  • Factory Count: how many factories your island can hold, the Forge included.
  • Factory Speed: all your factories produce faster, on top of what their own level gives them.
  • Crop Growth: your crops grow faster than in Minecraft, on a guaranteed timer, even in a badly watered field. A small green spark pops at every stage gained. The Farmer level of whoever plants (or replants) speeds things up even more, even without the upgrade: the screen shows how long a carrot takes, and your own time if you’re a farmer. Plants that regrow on their own (sugar cane, cactus, bamboo) keep the game’s pace.
  • Player Capacity: how many players your island can hold, owner included.
  • Hopper Limit: how many hoppers your island can have. Hopper minecarts count too, and the limit is shared with its Nether and End.
  • Ore Generator: your stone generator (water and lava) can spit out ores instead. Each ore has its own chance, the rarer ones less. The first levels unlock new ores, from coal all the way to netherite; the next ones raise every chance. Each ore has its own sound, from coal’s little chime to netherite’s rumble. It works on the island and in its End, not in its Nether (water evaporates there).

The rules

  • Every level costs Rinacoins and often a minimum island level.
  • That level is counted without the Colossus Slayer trophy bonus: the screen tells you when the trophy is inflating your level.
  • The two factory upgrades can require a certain level of each other. The others stand alone.
  • Only ranks with the “Buy upgrades” right can pay. Everyone else sees “Owner and co-owners only”. The owner sets this in the island settings.
  • Every purchase is logged in the island history.
  • A bought upgrade is never lost, unless the island gets reset.

Tip: start with Island Size to open up your ONE CHUNK, then alternate Factory Count and Factory Speed. One more factory is one more income stream; speed multiplies every one you already have.
