Island border

Your SkyBlock island border: an aurora veil marking your buildable area. Show it, hide it, change its colour and push it further out with upgrades.

Your island has a limit: a square around it, your buildable area. Beyond it, you can’t place or break anything. And you can see that limit: instead of vanilla Minecraft’s stripes, an aurora veil ripples all around your island.

The aurora veil

  • Waves of soft light rising and rippling without ever flickering, with a few stars inside.
  • It glows brightest at island height, where you build, and fades into a faint veil higher up and lower down.
  • The same veil also surrounds the spawn.

Picking its colour

In the island settings, under Rules (/is flags):

  • Island border: shown or hidden.
  • Border color: one click for “Next color”.
    • Blue (default): periwinkle, lilac and pink.
    • Green: mint and sky blue.
    • Red: pink, peach and lilac.

Only the owner and co-owners can change it. The choice applies to everyone looking at your island.

Pushing it back

The Island Size upgrade grows the square at every level: the border moves back and you gain room all around. The first one puts your ONE CHUNK within reach. See upgrades.

Your island’s Nether and End have their own square, always at least big enough for their islet, whatever your island’s size. See your island’s Nether and End.

Good to know

  • The border protects: nobody but your members builds inside your square, and a banned player gets pushed back the moment they try to cross it.
  • The veil comes from the server resource pack: without it, you see the game’s classic border.

Tip: pick a colour that clashes with your theme. A red border around a Boreal island is a limit you’ll never miss while building on the edge.
