Special enchantments

Special enchantments in skyblock: Excavation, Smelting, Telekinesis, Vampirism, Thunder and all the rest, how to get them and the PvP combos.

On top of Minecraft’s enchantments, SkyBlock has its own special enchantments: tools that mine in a square or smelt what they break, weapons that freeze, strike with lightning or drain your opponent’s health. They’re real game enchantments: their name shows in the item’s tooltip, in your Minecraft’s language.

How to open them

/enchants opens the full list: Combat enchantments, Tools enchantments, their max level, the items that take them, and the Combos screen.

Getting them

  • At the enchanting table, like regular enchantments, on the item or on a book.
  • At the anvil, to combine a book and an item, or two items. The anvil never lowers a level your item already had.
  • At the grindstone, to remove them.

An item only carries a limited number of special enchantments, more on a weapon or a tool than on a piece of armor. Books have no limit. The starter tools from your kit can’t be enchanted: put these on your own tools.

Excavation is rare at the table. Enchant books at a high level: now and then, the table slips a bonus Excavation into your book, with an announcement just for you.

Tools

  • Excavation (pickaxe, shovel, axe): mines 3 x 3. Sneaking, a single block. On stone, it also takes the ores around. On a pumpkin or melon that grew on its own, the harvest counts several times.
  • Smelting (pickaxe): smelts what you mine, iron ore drops an ingot straight away.
  • Telekinesis (tools): what you break goes straight into your inventory.
  • Harvest (hoe): doubles your harvest.
  • Regrowth (axe): replants the tree when you cut its stump.
  • Wisdom (tools and weapons): more vanilla XP from orbs, for your prestiges.

Combat

Combat enchantments only trigger against a player, on a fully charged hit. They’re made for the PvP warp.

Weapons

On a sword, a spear or an axe:

  • Frostbite freezes your opponent in place.
  • Withering withers them.
  • Vampirism gives you back part of the damage dealt.
  • Shadows blinds them.
  • Thunder strikes them with lightning.
  • Bleeding makes them bleed.
  • Venom poisons them.
  • Execution hits harder on a player close to death.
  • Rage boosts your damage when you’re the one close to death.
  • Hunt marks your target, who takes more damage.
  • Tornado throws them into the air.
  • Fracture damages their whole armor.
  • Bloodthirst heals you when you kill a player.
  • Snare slows them down.
  • Larceny steals their hearts.
  • Vertigo makes them nauseous.
  • Weakening weakens their hits.

Armor

  • Lucidity (helmet) protects you from blindness, darkness and nausea.
  • Last Breath (chestplate) heals you when you’re close to death.
  • Riposte (leggings) sends back part of the damage you take.
  • Dodge (boots) dodges a hit entirely.

Combos

Wear two combat enchantments together, in hand or on your armor: when the first one triggers, the combo fires, then recharges.

  • Blood Storm: Thunder + Vampirism, the lightning heals and shields you.
  • Frost Shatter: Frostbite + Thunder, the frozen target shatters.
  • Plague: Venom + Withering, poison, wither and hunger all at once.
  • Bloodletting: Execution + Bleeding, the finishing blow opens a deep wound.
  • Predator: Shadows + Hunt, you turn invisible and fast.
  • Hurricane: Tornado + Thunder, a higher throw and a lightning bolt.
  • Frenzy: Rage + Vampirism, Vampirism heals much more and you gain strength.
  • Perfect Counter: Dodge + Riposte, the dodged hit is returned at once.
  • Phoenix: Last Breath + Bloodthirst, you get back up stronger.
  • Instinct: Lucidity + Dodge, speed and resistance.
  • Ambush: Snare + Hunt, the prey is pinned to the ground and marked.
  • Leech: Larceny + Vampirism, stolen hearts feed a regeneration.
  • Eclipse: Vertigo + Shadows, extra blindness and darkness.
  • Demolition: Weakening + Fracture, the enemy armor cracks.
