The Forge

The Forge, your skyblock island's first factory: repair it, pick its ore, upgrade it under the great hammer and move it wherever you like.

Every island is born with its Forge. It’s your first factory: it smelts ores day and night, even while you’re offline, and it grows with you, from an old stone forge to a steel workshop belching steam.

Waking it up

At first, your Forge is just a wreck: a cold furnace, fallen arms, a stalled conveyor. The tutorial shows you how to get it running again. One right click on the wreck and the fire returns. The repair is free.

Its screen

Click the Forge to open its screen, the same as every factory:

  • The machine, on the left, drawn at its level.
  • The silo, in the middle, filling up with what it makes. One click anywhere on it collects everything, in a cascade of sounds.
  • The tower, on the right: click it to see your Forge’s chunk and what speeds production up there.
  • The production panel: the resource it’s making.
  • The gold key, at the bottom, to upgrade it.

Picking its ore

A brand new Forge only makes coal. Every other ore unlocks with its Core: copper, iron, quartz, redstone, lapis, gold, amethyst, emerald, diamond, ancient debris. Open the production panel, click the Core you’re carrying, confirm: that ore is unlocked for good in this Forge, and you choose which one it makes at any time.

Mining never gives a Core. They come from the miner’s tiers, pit events, the casino, the mob pit’s boss and prestige rewards.

The rarer an ore, the more it sells for and the slower it is to produce. Pick based on what you want to sell, or to stack in its tower.

Its tower

Place blocks of the ore it’s making in your Forge’s chunk (iron blocks for iron, diamond blocks for diamond): that’s its tower. The taller it is, the faster the Forge runs, and every tier reached adds a layer of sparks around the machine. The curve has a cap: past a certain point, one more block changes nothing.

Upgrading it

The gold key opens the preview: your Forge now, the next one in large, the price and what you’re missing. Beyond the first levels, you also need Primordial Gears from the Blacksmith.

Pay, and the show begins: a great hammer drops from the sky and strikes your Forge three times. On the second blow it glows red, on the third it bursts out at its new level, still burning hot, and cools in the steam before getting back to work. Every level changes the workshop: the fire returns, the iron conveyor, the deepslate furnace, copper, the hydraulic press, the steel gantry, then the ultimate form with its loaders, flywheel and steam.

Moving it

Your Forge can be picked up and put down wherever you like, like any factory: right click the machine in its screen, or sneak + left click the machine, then confirm. Its stock comes back to you. A few rules protect it:

  • One Forge per island, and it counts toward your factory count.
  • Only the island’s owner picks it up and places it.
  • A picked-up Forge is bound to whoever picked it up: it can’t be sold or traded.
  • A wreck can’t be picked up, and neither can a Forge under the hammer.

Put your Forge on a chunk with room around it. It grows with every level, and a tower of its ore’s blocks in the same chunk makes it run much faster.
